Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants applying for CTET can find the suitable eligibility criteria on the basis of application made for primary stage and elementary stage posts:

Primary Stage:
Applicants applying for the post of teacher on primary stage level must comply with:
  • Higher secondary education with minimum 50% marks, or
  • Graduation degree with minimum 60% marks or carrying or passed B. Ed degree, or
  • Must have completed senior secondary education with 45% marks or own a 2-year diploma in elementary education, or
  • Must have completed senior secondary education with 50% marks and pursuing final year preparation with the 2-year diploma in elementary education, or
  • A graduate and appeared or passed the final year exam of 2-year diploma in elementary education.
Elementary stage:
Applicants applying for post in elementary stage must comply with:
  • Graduate degree with appearance in the final year of 2-year diploma in elementary education, or
  • Graduation degree with 50% marks with B. Ed degree in progress, or
  • Graduation degree with 45% marks with appearance in the 1st year of B. Ed, or
  • Completed senior secondary with 50% marks or appearance in the final year of 4-year degree program in elementary education.

Answer : The CTET exam appears in the form of MCQ based questions with no negative marking. There are two papers for CTET. Those who want to be a Class I to V teacher need to clear Paper I and for Classes VI to VII, Paper II need to be cleared. For aspirants, who want to be the teacher of both levels, they have to appear for both the Paper I and Paper II.
